Unnatural Phenomenon (Lighting product)
Project Brief:
"Design any products with the theme: Unnatural Phenomenon using only glass and aluminium."
Even though this project is done in a group of 5, each individual needs to do a product design according to the theme.
Collaborated with Cellini and Synergraphics.
Research on unnatural phenomenon:
My group decided not to limit ourselves so we decided to search for inspirations first.
However, after a few days of research, we realise that it is very difficult because there is no direction so we discuss and decided to choose our target audience so that we are at least targeting the same group of people.
Target Audience:
Women who are rich and values aesthetics.
Why?
We decided to do aesthetic products that will empower women because we wanted to promote women independence.

Testings:
I saw many products related to glow in the dark and lighting effects thus I thought of testing it out to play with it and see if I can find something that I can use for my design.

Finalised:
Interactive convex lens to flip.
Based on testing and research, the convex lens can make the light focus at one spot just like a spotlight (testing was shown earlier).
The small hole at the back is to let go of latent heat to ensure that the product does not overheat.
Each moon-shaped glass has a different colour and is slightly overlapped with each other so that the lighting effect will look like the colours are well-blended.
Flower lighting effect.
Based on research, looking at flowers effect makes people happy.
With a simple, minimal and clean form that has a pretty flower lighting effect, it is, therefore, an Unnatural Phenomenon.
Located in bedroom for admiration when lying on the bed and to make the dark room slightly brighter.
