ProToss
Kitchen product
Project Brief:
"Design a kitchen product"
Innovative existing products.
Findings:
- Using cloths and plastic bags to cover appliances that are not frequently used to prevent dust.
- Frequently used cooking tools, such as frying pan, are usually place on the stove because it is too troublesome to keep in and out from the cabinet every day.
-Cloths are usually placed either on the table opened so that it is easier to dry and closed because it is easier to clean.
- Most kitchen cabinets have a theme like using dark brown wood for all cabinets in the kitchen.
Environment research.
Target Audience:
Young adults who are newbies to cooking
Why?
Cannot cook well but want to impress viewers like their friends or on social media.
Problems faced:
– Little or no knowledge of the cooking process.
– Tend to cook foods that can be prepared fast and easily due to their busy lifestyle and knowledge of cooking (e.g. Maggie Mee).
– Wants to look professional while cooking to build on confidence.
Ideations:
Interim concepts.
I decided to refine the tossing attachment because most houses already have frying pans so I thought that it will be better to make it attachable because they are more used to their frying pan.
Material Research:
From my research, silicone is suitable for my product because it is flexible, food-grade silicone thus safe to use as a kitchen product and it can withstand heat.
From this research, Stainless steel is suitable for my product because it is durable, dish wash safe as it is scratch resistant.
Refinements:
I need to do many testings to try and test the curve to ensure that it will work.
